Lucy Muchoki is the chief Executive Officer of the Kenyan Agribusiness and Agroindustry Alliance, KAAA, an organization created to support the Kenyan Agribusiness through enhanced productivity and competitiveness in the regional and Global market. KAAA is a member and partner of Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and also KEPSA (Kenya Private Sector Alliance)
Lucy is the co-chair of the Agricultural Sector Board of Kepsa and also chairs the National Agricultural sector committee at Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry, KNCCI.
She’s a social scientist with masters in strategy and business management.She is currently a member of the recently formed task force by African Union to support the organization of Regional Agribusiness platform for mobilizing and supporting the domestic private Sector in Africa both at national and continental level. Beside this, she serves in various advisory councils and steering committee member for various Agribusiness leadership organizations both at regional and Global level.
She is the Current vice Chair of CAADP Non State actors regional taskforce and has been instrumental in developing the Agribusiness strategy for Africa through collaboration with African Union Commission (AUC) and Nepad planning and coordinating Agency (NPCA)
She has been the private sector representative to the Executive Board of FARA-Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa, the Apex body for all research organizations in Africa, ASARECA-Association for strengthening Agricultural Research in East and Central Africa and Paepard, African European partnership programme on research development.
She is a member of the advisory council that was tasked with guiding the UNDP report on inclusive business model.She has served as a member of Advisory council on to ‘scale programme, funded by the Dutch Government .The ‘To Scale’ programme supports small holder farmers, in up scaling and out scaling best practices in Agribusiness for improved livelihoods.
Lucy is also serving as a member of the Advisory council of Sustainable Agriculture initiative, (SAI) an International food Industry network that supports sustainable Agriculture. She’s also a member of Global committee of food security, CFS, private sector mechanism
She also sits in the steering committees of the Global Forum for Agricultural Research, GFAR and the African Union Commission led initiative on Aflatoxin control programme for Africa, (PACA).The Aflatoxin Control programme is aimed at supporting small holder farmers in post-harvest control management.
She is also a steering committee member of the rural infrastructure/ market access programme and Ecological organic initiative both led by African Union Commission.
Lucy is also an accomplished entrepreneur. She’s the Chair of Great Lakes region private sector forum and recently appointed to the board member of Micro Small Enterprises Authority, MSEA
